I'm using a mix of Repro prints and a Maison De Garance Layer Cake for his. I'm not real sure about the chocolate background fabric, but Hubby likes it and that's what matters:-)
I'm using Georgia Lou by Brenda Riddle for Lecien for mine and I just love the soft look to these blocks. My camera phone didn't capture the colors real well-All the creams really do go Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-16883668646726256252011-07-14T08:32:00.000-07:002011-07-14T08:32:00.248-07:00Baby QuiltMy son's teacher & principal were just about to have their first baby (they're married), when school was ending this past June, so I whipped them up a baby quilt for their little girl. Jonathan gave it to them on graduation night.
We just got an email last week that little Kayla was born healthy and she is just as cute as can be. I'm so happy for them☺
I used all the pink Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-4507116484407826102011-07-13T12:00:00.000-07:002011-07-13T13:11:19.185-07:00Postage Stamp QuiltI finally finished my postage stamp quilt from Rachel's quilt along. Fabrics are from Sandi Henderson's Meadowsweet line☺
Since I stink at naming quilts I decided to let my kids just name them from now on. At least then the poor quilts won't be feeling all neglected with no name. So this one's name is "Fire Flower".
Before you ask what in the world is a fire flower, I'll tell you☺My kids Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-40054572493293999672011-07-12T20:28:00.000-07:002011-07-12T20:28:04.218-07:00Simple Things BlocksFinally able to get my pictures up. The USB cable for my camera has been M.I.A so I had no pictures to post:( But DH found it and now I am good to go.
Got all the border blocks cut out now too and am anxiously awaiting this week's instructions!
Fabrics are all scraps from my stash, mostly Fresh Palette and Red Rose Farm☺Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-29715281464992482322011-04-24T20:46:00.000-07:002011-04-24T20:46:18.201-07:00Happy Easter!Wishing you all the very happiest Easter and many blessings upon you and your family today and in the days to come!

Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 months since I last posted. I wish I had some grand excuse but I don't. Just life☺ I have been sewing quite a bit. I made this quilt top from Miss Rosie's pattern Simple City. Lots of pastels from my stash. The colors look really washed out in the pictures, but it really turned out pretty nice I think. It is a beast though, queen size. I don't know if I'll Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-58865725106818836022011-01-13T20:55:00.000-08:002011-01-13T20:55:15.478-08:00Word Up
I've been thinking on this since Kelly posted about our new theme, and I've finally decided on my word for the year:
Grace
noun
* a sense of what is right and proper; decency
* thoughtfulness toward others
* goodwill; favor
* the unmerited love and favor of God toward mankind
For me this word has double meaning: How I treat others & handle the stresses of life- I'd like to do all of Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-89842452591161519292011-01-11T21:42:00.000-08:002011-01-11T21:43:00.975-08:00My GirlMy heart is heavy as I type this. We had to say goodbye to our rottie/shepard mix on Fri. She had been sick for some time, and she couldn't hang on any longer. :(
This is our son's first experience with death and he's taken it better than we thought he would, but he's still pretty shaken. Our daughter doesn't understand fully-she's 3. She made me smile though yesterday when she asked Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-84680403139765073692011-01-06T17:39:00.000-08:002011-01-06T17:39:00.188-08:00Some of my Christmas gifts:-)Just had to share what my sweet hubby, who obviously knows me so well, got me:

And quilting thread makes great kitty Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-89930114987874268372011-01-04T17:32:00.000-08:002011-01-04T20:38:07.700-08:00Another giftThis one came about just a few weeks before Christmas when I couldn't think of what to give my mom. Why, a quilt, of course! She loves 30's prints and she was admiring a pattern awhile back from connecting threads that had friendship stars so this is what I came up with:
I backed it with these cute kitties because she loves purple and kitties so this was a perfect fit. It finished at Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-14058383678199172872011-01-02T17:22:00.000-08:002011-01-02T17:22:00.218-08:00Christmas Ribbons-Finished!A big thank you to everyone who suggested the small red and large Aqua borders for my border dilemma, I just love the way it turned out :-)
As it turns out, this quilt got initiated into our family the very first night. My son claimed it to snuggle with and ended up having the flu come that night, vomiting all over it. Ewwww. Poor boy felt so bad :-( Thank God for Shout. Not a trace of it Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-15913255590958225432011-01-01T17:06:00.000-08:002011-01-01T17:06:27.785-08:00Happy New Year! I've never been able to find a real clear explanation on how to do this so admittedly my quilts are not *truly* square. All of my attempts have been, hmmm, sloppy? crooked?looked better before I hacked into it? You know-bad. So I don't do it anymore.I'd like to remedy that though so give me your tips, techniques, suggestions. Help me get square. LOL.

Why? Simply because I ♥ it. When Rachel first posted about her Pinwheel Sampler I was smitten. So was she. I remember she said she was like Linus carrying it around with her ;-)
I can totally understand that now. She made a fabulous Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5991326368402120828.post-11944298353794075612010-10-31T16:45:00.000-07:002010-10-31T16:45:54.501-07:00Charming Girl Finishes!1. Work on my daughter's quilt- I finished it! Well, technically I started and finished a whole new quilt. I bought a Bliss jelly roll and when I saw it I just knew I had to make my little girly girl a quilt out of it. So here's Whirly Wheels Bliss:

They're little booties! Adorable.
Been busy this week keeping up with my 7 y.o and all his fall activities for school- fall festival, pumpkin carving contest, costume readying( is that a word?) Baking up a storm for the school bake sale, book fairs, parent-teacher meetings. Made with a Gypsy Rose by fig tree quilts layer cake and a few prints from fresh cottons.I'm saving up some money to get this one long arm quilted. One of my charming girl goals done! This is my Christmas Ribbons quilt top that I started working on for the Christmas sewing party a few months back with my other charming girls☺
I haven't decided on the border yet. What color should it be? I was leaning toward one of the red prints, but I recently saw someone who had made a quilt of out 12 days of Christmas and it had lots of the aqua Jonathanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08227910414497410337noreply@blogger.com2
