I can't wait for a proper sewing room! :-D
I managed to get all the hearts basted and the red ones appliqued to the background squares last night for my Valentine quilt. This is an excercise in applique for me. I've done a few things here and there, my grandmother's quilt, and some things for the kids to wear, but I've never done it on a quilt top before. I've only ever done it by machine too, so this is my first attempt at doing by hand.
I find that I actually prefer to do it by hand so far. It's relaxing to sit and watch a movie with hubby and get to stitch at the same time. I thought it would take forever too, but it wasn't so hard and it didn't take long at all!
The hubby tells me I am being too picky, but I am not thrilled with the visibility of my stitching, ( I thought you shouldn't be able to see it all and I can) but since it is my first time, I guess I can only get better, right?
Have I mentioned that I love this line????? GORGEOUS!

The turnover quilt is gorgeous. Hand applique is definitely a challenge for me too. But like they say, practice makes perfect, right?
