All ready to (hopefully) be sewn into pretty blocks tomorrow:-)
Hope you got some time to stitch tonight!

Simple things Quilt
Here's my finished top from the Simple Things Quilt Along:
It still needs to be quilted. After I figure out a backing for it, of course:-)
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I can't believe it's almost Christmas!

Seeing Double
I got Miss Rosie's new book, Another Bite of Schnibbles awhile ago, and as I was flipping through it, I thought my eyes were going crazy! Look at this-
2 Lincoln? Ok, this is weird.
Page 48/ Page 41? Wait, that's not right!
Page 40/ Page 33? Huh?
2 Getaway quilts? What?2 Lincoln? Ok, this is weird.
Page 48/ Page 41? Wait, that's not right!
2 OSO? Hmmm.
Well, obviously I got a strange copy of this book! Hey, at least mine is unique!

Studly & The Mrs. Quilt Along Blocks
Here are my Hubby's blocks. I'm using a mix of Repro prints and a Maison De Garance Layer Cake for his. I'm not real sure about the chocolate background fabric, but Hubby likes it and that's what matters:-)
I'm using Georgia Lou by Brenda Riddle for Lecien for mine and I just love the soft look to these blocks. My camera phone didn't capture the colors real well-All the creams really do go together, not sure why it looks so yellow in this pic?
I'm almost done with all the pressing of all those itty bitty triangles-and with 2 quilts, there's a bunch! ☺But it's going to be so worth all the work in the end. Kelly has outdone herself with this beautiful quilt!

Baby Quilt
My son's teacher & principal were just about to have their first baby (they're married), when school was ending this past June, so I whipped them up a baby quilt for their little girl. Jonathan gave it to them on graduation night.
We just got an email last week that little Kayla was born healthy and she is just as cute as can be. I'm so happy for them☺
I used all the pink prints from Tanya Whelan's newest collection, very girly☺

Postage Stamp Quilt
I finally finished my postage stamp quilt from Rachel's quilt along. Fabrics are from Sandi Henderson's Meadowsweet line☺
Since I stink at naming quilts I decided to let my kids just name them from now on. At least then the poor quilts won't be feeling all neglected with no name. So this one's name is "Fire Flower".
Before you ask what in the world is a fire flower, I'll tell you☺My kids are obsessed with Mario Brothers-you know Mario, from Nintendo? Yeah, totally obsessed. I mean, the action figures, the games, the t.v show-Yep, there was a t.v show-I didn't know that until recently. I am now very well acquainted with it. Anyhoo, a fire flower is a plant that gives Mario ( or his brother Luigi) fireball throwing power.
It helps to defeat the evil King Koopa and his cronies. Neato, huh? Aren't you glad I could share that with you? Your so much wiser now ;-) Your welcome☺
I have a feeling that all my future quilts are going to end up with a Mario Brothers name. LOL.

Simple Things Blocks
Finally able to get my pictures up. The USB cable for my camera has been M.I.A so I had no pictures to post:( But DH found it and now I am good to go.
Got all the border blocks cut out now too and am anxiously awaiting this week's instructions!
Fabrics are all scraps from my stash, mostly Fresh Palette and Red Rose Farm☺

It's been awhile!
Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 months since I last posted. I wish I had some grand excuse but I don't. Just life☺ I have been sewing quite a bit. I made this quilt top from Miss Rosie's pattern Simple City. Lots of pastels from my stash. The colors look really washed out in the pictures, but it really turned out pretty nice I think. It is a beast though, queen size. I don't know if I'll be able to quilt this thing on my little machine.
Both of my kids had birthday's-3 days apart- in March. Bella wanted a Minnie Mouse theme so I made her this dress
Jonathan wanted a pirate party, but we had that one at Chuck-e-cheese. Loved it. No mess for me to clean up and they organize everything☺ I appliqued a skull & crossbones on a white shirt and an "8" in the middle.
And I made his cake too based on a cake I had seen online.
I have been lurking to all the charming girls blogs, keeping up you all☺ It's good to be posting again. It was nice to have a bit of a break, but I am glad to be back!

Word Up
I've been thinking on this since Kelly posted about our new theme, and I've finally decided on my word for the year:
Grace
noun
* a sense of what is right and proper; decency
* thoughtfulness toward others
* goodwill; favor
* the unmerited love and favor of God toward mankind
For me this word has double meaning: How I treat others & handle the stresses of life- I'd like to do all of that with more grace this year.
Grace also means God's Favor, and I want to remember all the "little" things that I take for granted everyday as being nothing less than God's favor to me. Every good thing in my life, big or small, is a gift. Every breath is a gift, and I don't want to take that for granted. Life is too short. I want to live it with Grace:-)
