Can you help me find this?

I am in DESPERATE search of this fabric.

I know it is out of print, but come on! I don't want to pay that much for fabric! Since it is rare, I expect to pay more than the retail value, but that's just ridiculous.

Can anyone help? I've googled it all day with no luck :( Can you show me a store that has some?
I'd love to make a quilt for my hubby, who is a screenwriter, with this fabric as the star :-)

Fabric Yumminess

I goofed and ordered too little backing fabric for the quilt I'm working on right now. Well, one of them. I have several in progress. You know how it goes. :-)

So I had to put an order in to Hancocks of Paducah because they have awesome clearance sales and they had the fabric I need for $4/yard instead of the $10/yard Joann's wanted for it, YIKES!

I had a coupon for free shipping so I just *had* to order more so I could use it. Oh Darn, right?

So, this is what is on it's way to me-
A Jennifer Paganelli Designer Roll. 36 strips of Dance with me. Delicious! And on sale too:-)

This yummy little bundle which I think will be destined for a zig zag quilt-
From Robert Kaufman, also on sale

Both of these lovelies and few other odds and ends that I can't show yet because they are part of my wip.

And I just cut into some Christmas Fabrics today and am sewing up a Christmas quilt at hubby's request. That should be up soon too.
Gonna go watch a movie with the kiddos now. Aliens in the attic. Hope it's good :)
Oh, and for you twilight fans, tomorrow is the big day!!
I won't get to see it until Sunday morning since I am doing the Give Thanks Walk on Sat :-)

I neeeeeeeeeed some of this. In like every print. Need it bad.

Come on. Drool with me.  You know you want to.

Excuse my absense

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days. We had to take my 6 year old son to the ER Monday night. He hadn't been feeling real well before school that day. It was just the sniffles, so mean mom that I am, I made him go to school anyway.
He was fine all afternoon after he got home, then about 8pm or so he developed this barking cough. Really. Barking. The only way I can describe is it sounded like a sea lion. It was weird. Anyway, he went to sleep just fine, but then woke up just before 10pm wheezing and gasping for breath. And coughing. Scared. The. Heck. out of us. He kept saying he couldn't breathe:-( His poor little lungs. It just breaks your heart to see your baby in pain like that :*(
So we rush him to the ER, they see he can't breathe well & he's taken right back. The Dr. takes one look at him, hears him cough, and says "Oh yeah, he has croup."
So they give him some orapred and do a breathing treament, and he's MUCH better. Enough to ask if he can play the playstation they had in the room. At 11pm. Yep, that's my boy! * Insert sarcasm here*
So he's stayed home the last 2 days driving me crazy because he's a horrible patient;-) He couldn't stand the needing to rest part.
But now he's back at school and things hopefully will get to normal. We're praying that our daughter doesn't get it next. She's only 2 so the thought of her having that horrible cough scares me to death:-(

I have a new quilt in progress that I want to show you and I will as soon as I snap a few pics.

And the quilt that I made my aunt that has cancer that I showed you back here was recieved and very loved. It turns out that it came at a great time because my aunt had just received news that the cancer has spread the day before:( Apparantly it is in her blood stream, if I am understanding correctly, and it can go anywhere from there. So she will have to do chemo, or radiation. Or both:( She says she has been snuggling with my quilt though, and I just hope it brings her some comfort. If you would pray for her recovery, I would be extremely grateful.

Well, that was a long winded post. If you've made it this far, thank you & check back this week for pics of my new projects:-)

God Bless,

Lisa

Chewy Brownie Cookies

In the spirit of the recipe sharing that is going on with the cross country blog hop, I thought I'd share my new favorite cookie recipe. This one comes from allrecipes.com and is fabulous!
I'd been looking for a good, brownie like chocolate cookie and this one takes the cake( or the cookie, har hardy har).

You must try them:-)

Chewy Brownie Cookies

Ingredients:

2/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon water
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening, sugar, water and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and beat until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until barely set. Do not over bake. Cool 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.

Enjoy!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! And a finish!

Well, a day late anyway. You know how it is. Life gets in the way of blogging, sewing, yada yada yada.;-P
Here are the kids all dressed up last night. Jonathan was Duke from G.I Joe and Bella was Belle from Beauty and the Beast:-)

It's a little hard to see but this one is a spider. I stink at taking pictures. LOL
If anyone has any tips for taking pictures of flames or fireworks and such, please send them my way!

Passing out candy after Trick-or-Treating

The kids had fun, got way too much candy and stayed up way  past thier bedtime;-)

And onto the finish:
My Aunt Sandy is battling cancer. She just had her surgery to remove it and so far everything is looking good. I wanted to make her something to comfort her and of course, I figured that something should be a quilt. I mean, what else can wrap you in comfort like a snuggly quilt that was handmade just for you?!
So here is what I came up with:

It's a friendship braid center made with a Spring Magic by April Cornell Jelly Roll from Moda.

Backing is from Simplicity by 3 sisters for Moda

Closeup of the heart quilting around the border. It's hard to see in this picture.

I quilted this in an allover random loopy pattern and I really like how it turned out. I hope she likes it!
