Margaret's Hope Chest

Margaret's Hope Chest is collecting quilts for kids who are homeless in the Grand Rapids Michagan Public School System.
She has a goal of 400 quilts. If you quilt, consider making one for this great cause, or you can send in quilt tops and they will finish them off for you!
I made 2, one finished and 1 quilt top.
I pulled all of this from my stash :-)
The girl quilt was easy to finish because I collect a ton of cute girly prints for my daughter. I have hardly any that were appropriate for a boy. I'm not in a position right now where I could buy any more fabric so I couldn't finish the boy quilt, but I wanted to send in one for each a boy and a girl and this is what I came up with:
2 Strawberry Lemonade Charm Packs, some Butterfly Fling Borders, and whole bunch of white Kona Cotton made up this top. I used Michael Miller's Itty Bitty Princess on the back and some cute pink fairy wands that I had on hand.

I've had some of this cute Salina Yoon fabric sitting around for awhile. I thought this would be perfect for a little boy! Added some stripes from Moda and viola. This was super easy. I think it maybe took me an hour to piece it together.
I'm still debating on sending in some more. I'm sure my dh would be thrilled if I would use up some of my stash ;-)

What should I do with these?

Any ideas?
I particpated in a Charm swap through a coop that I belong to, and got 48 beautiful 5" squares back from the other lovely ladies. I made some half-square triangles with them, and was originally going to make a small pinwheel quilt that I saw over at Moda Bake Shop, but when I put them together, it just seemed off. So I ended up laying them out like this and I love it. But I only have 10 HST blocks left and I need 16 for one block.
So, should I cut up some more squares and make some more blocks to make a quilt? Should I stop and make a table runner? Should I use these 3 blocks and just add some borders around them to make it bigger?
Any ideas?
These little cuties are for the prairie points that I want arounnd the edge of whatever it ends up being :p

My Quilt Festival Quilt

Ok, I haven't made that many quilts yet, but I wanted to join in the fun too!
Amy over at Park City Girl is hosting a Blogger's Quilt Festival( Thanks Amy!)  Here' my entry:
I really wish I had taken better pictures!
This one was made for my Grandma for her birthday. I used a lovely triple Irish Chain pattern from ModaBakeShop.

It is made with an Oh Cherry Oh honey bun from Moda and alot of White Kona Cotton:-)
I love the colors on this one, it was hard to give it up!

On the back I appliqued all of her great-grandchildren's hands and feet and put their names and ages on the label.

I wanted her to feel closer to her family since she is living in a nursing home now and can't get out as much.  She loves it and so do I:-)

Getting ready for Fall

Not that we really have seasons here, well, except for summer. We always have summer;-)
But it's fun to get into the spirit of Fall anyway!

I finally got around to finishing the kid's Halloween quilt.
I bought the charm packs for this last year and had intended to make something with it then, but I never got around to it.
I made small hourglass blocks from the charm packs and appliqued the pumpkins, ghost and letters on a Kona Cotton Black background.
I still think it needs something, but oh well, its too late now. And the kids are happy and that's what counts:-)

Bella claimed it as her "bankie" (blankie) right away;-)

And we made an apple pie. Yummmmmmmmmmmm
This was my first time doing a lattice crust. It didn't turn out so pretty, but it sure tasted good!

It's all brown on top because this pie had a yummy carmel like sauce that you pour over the top before baking.  I was so happy with this recipe because I've made many apple pies and my filling always runs. It never gets firm. I didn't think this one would set up because I've never added liquid to my pies, but it did! :-D:-D
Recipe is here
